The song "Life looks better in spring", performed by John Lilygreen and he Islanders will represent Cyprus at the 55th Eurovision Song Contest taking place in Oslo in May.
The song was selected among nine finalists in a competition held at CyBC.
The winning song, written by Nasos Lambrianides and Melis Constantinou, was chosen through tele-voting and with the votes of a jury, each of which had equal weight.
John said he did not expect to be chosen to represent Cyprus.
“We just came here to have a nice time”, he said after the results were announced.
The Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals will take place on the 25 and 27 May and the final contest will follow on the 29th of May.
